Nistler Farm’s Vision is to give the folks who help and those who buy a connection to the land, a wonder of nature and an appetite for good food.
Located just west of Minneapolis in Maple Plain, Jeff Nistler farms 60 acres around the farm her grew up on. With help from his retired father, neighbors and the rest of Jeff’s team, Nistler Farms is known for growing exceptional sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, winter squash and pumpkins in several organically managed greenhouses and in the field. They use limited commercial inputs and no synthetic herbicides, fungicides or insecticides, relying on crop rotation, cover crops, hand weeding and other time-tested methods.
With produce from the farm and flour and eggs from fellow Mill City vendors Sunrise Flour Mill and Sunshine Harvest Farm, Jeff also makes and sells seasonal squash, rhubarb and tomato breads at the market–perfect for breakfast or a tasty snack.
You’ll find Jeff back at the Mill City Farmers Market’s indoor winter markets in November and December with spruce tops, birch logs and sustainably harvested Christmas trees.
