MCFM Executive director Transition Announcement
The Mill City Farmers Market and Charitable Fund shares the bittersweet announcement of the retirement of our long-tenured Executive Director, Martha Archer. For more than 13 years, Martha has steered our market through growth and change, while building relationships with our farmers, makers, and artisans. Under Martha’s strategic visioning, MCFM grew in vendor size and shopper attendance, becoming a vibrant and significant market in the local food ecosystem, as well as receiving national recognition in the farmers market industry.
Through the market, immigrant and emerging farmers have received grants and guidance, giving them the ability to grow their farms and their market presence and make a sustainable living for themselves and their families. Martha’s values-led mentorship and investment in their success is one part of the legacy she will leave.
The impact of Martha’s leadership and commitment to the larger Minnesota farmers market community and the Mill City Farmers Market will grow for years to come. Join us in wishing Martha well in her retirement as she pursues a variety of family farm endeavors!
The Board of Directors has formed a committed AdHoc committee to lead the search for a new Executive Director and to help with the transition. We aim to have a new Director in place by year’s end.
We will provide updates on timing as we have them.
