Elizabeth John founded Barn Swallow Garden in 2008 as a farm growing 100 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, garlic and and other vegetables that couldn’t be found in grocery stores. Being a life-long knitter, Elizabeth started to knit a few mittens and hats to spice up her market offerings. The mittens and hats were such a big hit, that now they are all she sells! In addition to knitted hats and mittens Elizabeth also makes felted wool slippers, knit head bands, neck gaiters, wool bags, pouches, and felted electronics pouches.

“My aesthetic is functional. I strive to make items that are useful, beautiful, and well made. I make everything by hand and it means something to me to put these things in the world hopefully to be enjoyed. I use high quality materials and simple designs, really trying to make a quality useful product that will last a long time. My wool is purchased from a renewable Midwestern company.”
