Gohan embraces the spirit and tradition of Japanese cooking with a mid-western twist. Based out of Minneapolis, owners Kou and Christi Kue reflect the rhythms of the Minnesota seasons by using ingredients they can gather locally. Gohan respects all forms of life and are mindful about the transfer of life force along each process of food-sharing – from the ingredients used, to preparation, to consumption. Kou and Kristi support, celebrate, and nurture an authentic presence to food. Gohan is bringing back traditional sushi-making practices by making Japanese food through Minnesotan eyes and creating a connection with people to the food we eat.
