Chef Shack is a mobile kitchen with a mission to bring organic, tasty street food to Minneapolis at an affordable price. Chef Shack, started in 2007 by the “Godmothers of Food Trucks in the North” Carrie Summer and Lisa Carlson, was one of the founding vendors at Mill City Farmers Market. In addition to their food truck, Carrie and Lisa also own the restaurant Chef Shack Bay City.
James Beard award nominee Lisa Carlson and her partner Carrie Summers are both avid travelers with decades of experience working in notable fine-dining kitchens in Minneapolis, New York, and San Francisco. The two met in 2001, when Carlson opened Café Barbette and hired Summer as her sous chef.
At the market you’ll find their famous Indian-spiced mini donuts fried to perfection, bison burgers, grass-fed hot dogs, bacon brats, sweet potato tacos, pulled pork nachos, market salads and more.
