Black Cat Natural Foods is a Twin Cities-based caterer, working with organic and local farm-sourced ingredients to provide delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Mill City Farmers Market Saturday and Tuesday markets. Their signature items include: “The Donner” (egg, sausage and cheese sandwich), the Market Omelette with seasonal herbs and vegetables, BBQ Pulled Pork Hash, a rotating variety of seasonal pancakes and sandwiches and new rice bowls at the Tuesday Night Market.
Black Cat Natural Foods is a throwback to old world ideals and a different, slower way of living. To owners Phil and Karen Ward, the kitchen is a holy place and meals are about enjoying the food as well as the camaraderie around the table. Adjusting their menu to suit the seasons, they follow nature and how its bounty is intended. Whenever possible they source ingredients from local sustainable and organic farms, including buying 90 dozen eggs and hundred of pork patties each Saturday from fellow Mill City Farmers Market vendor, Sunshine Harvest Farm.
