Seasonal Salad & Grain Bowls

Find these items in the market:

  • Leafy greens – about 1/2#
  • Grains/noodles – about 2 cups cooked (we used rye berries from Clover Bee Farm)
  • Other assorted vegetables – 4 cups, roasted, sautéed or steamed
  • Protein 12 oz. – from the market – egg, beans, poultry, bacon, beef etc
  • Crunchy and tasty additions/condiments- nuts/seeds, kimchi, curtido, cheese, olives etc
  • Fresh herbs, minced

Tahini Maple Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil or American Hazelnut Oil (or a combination of olive oil and toasted sesame oil)
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar OR lemon or lime juice
  • 3 T. Maple syrup, or honey
  • 1/2 cup tahini (can use another nut butter)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • (Optional) 1/2 inch ginger, peeled and minced
  • 1 tsp salt OR 2 tsp tamari/soy sauce


Combine dressing ingredients and whisk together well.

Layer all ingredients in a bowl:

  • Grains
  • Greens
  • Assorted vegetables
  • Cooked protein
  • Crunchy/tangy additions
  • Fresh herbs

Drizzle with dressing and enjoy!
