Mill City kids At The Market

We love our youngest market shoppers! Read more about the educational and entertainment programs available for children and families who visit the market, plus some tips for bringing the whole family into the kitchen.

Power of Produce (PoP)

Power Of Produce (PoP) is a nationally recognized kids program, originating from the Oregon City Farmers Market as a way to empower kids to make healthy food choices and introduce them to where their food comes from. Power of Produce seeks to develop the next generation of healthy eaters by empowering them to make healthy food choices! No cost to participate.

here are the Details:

  • 8am to 1pm on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month
  • Kids ages 3-12 can sample a seasonal vegetable at our green programming tent by the entrance of the Train Shed
  • By sampling the veggie of the day, children earn a $2 market token that can be used to purchase produce (fresh fruits or vegetables) at MCFM
  • Rain or shine!

Story Time with the Guthrie

Join the Guthrie Theater for Story Time at 9 and 9:45 a.m. on the fourth Saturday of each month this summer. Find us near the Guthrie side stairs between vendors Sunshine Harvest Farm and Bean Market!

And… Babycake’s Book Stack will be joining us again on select Saturdays in 2025! Babycake’s is a MOBILE bookstore that carries a highly curated inventory of books designed to include the culture and/or languages of the Indigenous, immigrants, refugees, African American and many other backgrounds. Be sure to check it out next time you’re at the market, parked on 2nd Street! See upcoming dates here.
