Dear Mill City Farmers Market Friends and Supporters,
The Mill City Farmers Market Harvest Social is on September 10th, and we need your support!
This event is a celebration of our community and the bountiful fall harvest. It is held in the Mill City Museum Train Shed and features an abundant farm-to-table, organic dinner prepared by our market chefs, signature cocktails and music by Orange Mighty Trio. There will be a tightly curated auction and a Fund-a-Need that supports our unique farmer and food maker grant program.
The Harvest Social is our single, annual fundraiser. Vendor fees cover just 25% of our operating budget. We rely on our community, sponsors and individuals, to achieve the Market’s goal of Growing a Healthier Community. We have lost a few sponsors this year and cannot afford to miss our goal for this crucial event. Please consider sponsoring a table, buying tickets or making a donation, today!
The growth of the Mill City Farmers Market’s educational and food access programming inspired the creation of the Charitable Fund. The Harvest Social directly supports the Charitable Fund and makes it possible for us to provide educational and food access programming: Mill City Cooks classes, Power of Produce kids’ program, Meet Your Vegetables nutrition internship, Greens for Good produce donation program, and Market Bucks food stamps matching program. Our community’s health is improved with access to local, organic food and opportunities to learn about healthy cooking and eating from trusted sources.
Our staff, board and volunteers are dedicated to our mission of healthy food education and access. This new 501(c)(3) nonprofit will allow us to expand the scope, reach and sustainability of these activities. We couldn’t do so without our farmers, chefs, volunteers, and donors like you.
Thank you for your support!
