This season, food and beverages (including coffee) must be consumed before or after entering the market. The State of MN declared that farmers markets may remain open IF we can manage 6′ distancing and food/beverages are not consumed on-site.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve noticed that carrying a delicious cold press or hot Vienna roast is just too tempting, leading to familiar routines of slowing down to stop, chat and drink coffee at the market. Farmers markets have long been places to gather and build community. However, this season we must follow public health and safety recommendations and resist the urge to linger and socialize. We all have a critical role to play in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Trust us, we love coffee (MCFM staff arrives at 5am on Saturdays!), which is why we want to support Cafe Palmira and all of our prepared food vendors by keeping the market open and keeping food and beverages take-away only. Thank you for understanding.
Where should I drink my coffee?
You can still buy coffee beans and to-go coffee at the market from Cafe Palmira to consume before or after the market like in the suggestions below:
- At home before you arrive, artfully planning your grocery list
- On a walk across the Stone Arch Bridge, contemplating new ways to support local agriculture
- Sitting in Gold Medal Park, intricately editing your Instagram story about your trip to the market
- OR >>Toss it in a sealable container to stow away in your bag!
