This Saturday, market chef Beth will be making Okonomiyaki Cabbage Pancakes! Nutrition and Public Health students lead our Meet Your Vegetables demonstrations at the top of the Chicago Mall, near Spoonriver restaurant. Discover creative, simple ways to prepare seasonal produce and walk away with a delicious sample and recipe card complete with nutrition information! Power of Produce “PoP“ veggie tasting club is at the information tent every Saturday! Kids ages 3-12 can earn a $2 token to spend on fruits and veggies by tasting a local, seasonal vegetable, as a way to empower kids to make healthy eating decisions. Learn more.
Oink Outings The goal of Oink Outings is to connect pig farmers with consumers so they can answer any questions that they have about pork or pigs. For each question that a consumer asks, one pound of ground pork is donated to Second Harvest Heartland to help feed families in need.
