Meet Your Vegetables
Sample fresh, seasonal veggie recipes created and prepared by Nutrition students at our Meet Your Vegetables booth, located at the top of the Chicago Mall. To kick off the program, our interns will be sampling Citrus Beet Salad–grab a recipe and a sample and chat with medical professionals from Allina Health, the program’s sponsor.
Power of Produce–PoP Club!- A seasonal vegetable tasting club for kids ages 5-12. Collect punches on trading cards and receive a $2 token to spend on produce at the market for tasting this Saturday’s vegetable! This season PoP will be at the market’s green Information Booth in the center of the market on the Chicago Mall.
11AM – 1PM MCFM Welcomes back DL Cajun Band playing Traditional Cajun music from the other end of the Mississippi River, from the prairies and bayous of Minnesota.
MSP Film Society – Founded in 1962 and based in the Mill District, the MSP Film Society is Minnesota’s foremost film exhibition organization. We bring the best of international and independent film to local audiences through the MSP International Film Festival, numerous niche film festivals and series, and nightly programming 365-days a year.
Bike Cops for Kids Truck – Since 2009, bike cops in Minneapolis have been encouraging positive interactions with North Minneapolis kids by handing out hundreds of free helmets, bike locks, lights, and even some free bikes. American Academy of Neurology, will be giving away 1,000 bike helmets starting at 8am this Saturday in an effort to raise awareness of brain safety and prevent head injuries in Minnesota. Come early–quantities are limited!
