10 to 10:15 a.m. – Learn the fundamentals of cooking fish–a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are incredibly important for your body and brain.
10:30 to 11 a.m. – Join us for our chef-led cooking class offered every Saturday in the train shed patio, inspiring you to make your #WeeklyMarketMeal. This Saturday, guest chef Jill Holter will be showing you how to cook for a healthy brain using ingredients from the market. Nutrition and Public Health students lead our Meet Your Vegetables demonstrations at the top of the Chicago Mall, near Spoonriver restaurant. Discover creative, simple ways to prepare seasonal produce and walk away with a delicious sample and recipe card complete with nutrition information! Learn more.
Power of Produce
Power of Produce “PoP“ veggie tasting club is at the information booth every week! Kids ages 3-12 can earn a $2 token to spend on fruits and veggies by tasting a local, seasonal vegetable, as a way to empower kids to make healthy eating decisions. Learn more.
