This Saturday is our annual Brain Health Day! Learn how a healthy diet can impact the health of your brain in our cooking demo, get your body moving with Market Yoga and line up for our annual helmet giveaway and fitting hosted by our neighbors at the American Academy of Neurology

Produce Planner

Arugula, asparagus, beans (dried), beets, baby bok choy, broccolini, carrots, chili peppers (dried), green onions, herbs (fresh), kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, microgreens, mushrooms (fresh, frozen, dried), nettles, radishes, rhubarb, salad mix, snap peas, strawberries, Swiss chard, tomatoes (cherry), turnips (hakurei, salad) and zucchini

Market Yoga

9 to 10 a.m. – As part of the Market’s mission to grow a healthier community, we’ve partnered with local neighborhood yoga studios to offer free outdoor yoga classes! Before or after you shop the Market, join talented instructors from YogaFit Studios for an hour of blissful outdoor practice in the lawn overlooking the Mighty Mississippi and Stone Arch Bridge. Mill City Cooks

10 to 10:15 a.m. – Learn the fundamentals of cooking fish–a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are incredibly important for your body and brain.
10:30 to 11 a.m. – Join us for our chef-led cooking class offered every Saturday in the train shed patio, inspiring you to make your #WeeklyMarketMeal. This Saturday, guest chef Jill Holter will be showing you how to cook for a healthy brain using ingredients from the market. Samples and recipe cards are available at each demo—or check out our recipe archive!

Helmet Giveaway

Brain Health Day

Our neighbors at the American Academy of Neurology will be giving away bike helmets to the first 1,000 customers at the market! Plus, expert AAN staff will be available for helmet fittings. Learn more


Live Music

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Light of the Moon will be playing Americanna folk tunes in the green music tent by the Guthrie stairs.


Meet Your Vegetables

Nutrition and Public Health students lead our Meet Your Vegetables demonstrations at the top of the Chicago Mall, near Spoonriver restaurant. Discover creative, simple ways to prepare seasonal produce and walk away with a delicious sample and recipe card complete with nutrition information! Learn more.


Power of Produce

Power of Produce “PoP“ veggie tasting club is at the information booth every week! Kids ages 3-12 can earn a $2 token to spend on fruits and veggies by tasting a local, seasonal vegetable, as a way to empower kids to make healthy eating decisions. Learn more.
