It's Labor Day weekend, which means school is right around the corner! Join Market Chef Jenny Breen at the market this Saturday for her "Back to School Cooking on a Budget" class in the Mill City Cooks kitchen at 10:30, stop by our Power of Produce kids veggie sampling club, and don't miss story time with the Guthrie at 9:30 & 10am!

Produce Planner

Apples, arugula, artichoke, beets, blueberries, baby bok choi, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cherry tomatoes, collards, cucumbers, eggplant, fennel, ginger, green beans, green onions, ground cherries, herbs, kale, kohlrabi, lavender, lettuce, melon, mint, microgreens, mushrooms, mustard greens, pac choi, parsnips, radicchio, radishes, raspberries, okra, oregano, peppers (hot and sweet), potatoes, spring onions, squash blossoms, salad mix, snap peas, snow peas, spinach, sweet corn, Swiss chard, thyme, tomatillos, zucchini and much more!

10:30-11AM Market Chef Jenny Breen will prepare a seasonal “Back to School Cooking on a Budget” meal in our FREE cooking demonstration, Mill City Cooks!

Kids' Activities

9:30 & 10AM Story Telling by H. Adams, actor at the Guthrie Theater. This event is located in the Music Tent on the Chicago Mall near the Guthrie stairs.

Power of Produce–PoP Club!- A seasonal vegetable tasting club for kids ages 5-12. Collect punches on trading cards and receive a $2 token to spend on produce at the market for tasting this Saturday’s vegetable! This season PoP will be at the market’s green Information Booth in the center of the market on the Chicago Mall.

Ingredient Magazine- The food magazines for kids ‘Ingredient’ and ‘Butternut’ are made in Minnesota and distributed around the world, bringing food literacy to children and tweens. Meet the editor-in-chief, participate in a coloring activity, and get a free digital subscription or buy a print subscription at their booth on the Chicago Expansion this Saturday!

11AM – 1PM MCFM welcomes Light of the Moon, playing folk and bluegrass music in the music tent located near the Guthrie stairs.
