This week’s featured local artists
Many of the market’s artists are online only for the season. Each week, we feature a selection of MCFM artists on our blog, Instagram stories @mcfarmersmkt and through our digital art market email newsletter. Find unique gifts, kitchenware and and other handmade items while supporting local, sustainabilty-driven artists.
THIS WEEK’S PICKS:
äventyr is a bicycle and lifestyle bag company, designing and handcrafting unique durable bags from their studio in Minneapolis. äventyr keeps sustainability at the core of their mission and donates proceeds from their handlebar, pannier and other bags to non-profit organizations. This summer, DeAnn is also making light-weight adjustable face coverings from athletic fabric and donating $3 from each mask to the market’s Farmer Relief Fund.
You can check out äventyr’s newest release, the Gräventyr Bar Bag pictured above, and their other styles with the link below. This summer they are offering free doorstep delivery in Minneapolis and St. Paul and free U.S. shipping.
Redcruiser is a collection of illustrated and hand-lettered stationery, gift and home goods that celebrate the outdoors, seasonal gardening, markets, cooking, eating and drinking.
All of redcruiser’s paper products are printed locally (in MPLS) on 100% PCW paper and are assembled by hand in our MN studio and their tea towels are 100% organic cotton printed with non-toxic inks. Shop Heidi’s food and drink themed prints and cards, including her mix-and-match 5 for $12 cards happening now on Etsy!
A MANO makes cheerful decorative and functional ceramics priced for art collectors of all ages. Each and every piece of work that is created in the A MANO studio was thoughtfully designed to bring beauty and utility. Using a locally sourced low fire clay allows them to use bright glazes in every color of the rainbow.
“Using handmade pottery means less pre and post-consumer waste than buying mass-produced work at big box stores, and it keeps dollars in the Minneapolis community.”
Louisa’s newest restock of rainbow wall hangings, planters, cups and more newly dropped today! Use code LOCALPICKUP for contactless pick-up in Columbia Heights. $2 from each sale in August will be directed to the Twin Cities Recovery Project to support our community.
CREATE LASER ARTS
Create Laser Arts is the collaboration of three local artists to make imaginative laser-engraved goods and hand-made functional wares in wood, paper, leather, stone and acrylic. Owners Celestine Pueringer and Mark Knierim make items that reflect their artistic vision using reclaimed materials. They make unique wood coasters, jewelry, magnets, small boxes, salt cellars, cabin wares, trivets and more. They also provide laser engraving and cutting services to artists, individuals and small businesses seeking to customize products and objects (including MCFM’s staff name tags!). Create Laser Arts is based in the Seward neighborhood of South Minneapolis.
This season, Create Laser Arts is also making and selling cotton face masks with filter pocket, nose wire and adjustable straps. Use code MCFM to get 10% off any purchase from their online store.
