Reviving the old town square
We know that to many neighbors and visitors the Mill City Farmers Market is more than a place to buy groceries. It’s a place to meet with friends and neighbors, share a locally sourced meal and learn from the farmers and makers who produce our food. Every Saturday the historic Gold Medal Flour train shed and cement Chicago Avenue Mall that make up our market are transformed into a vibrant community gathering space much like an old “town square.”
As a way to further community connections at the Mill City Farmers Market, we have created a new “Coffee with Your…” series, where we invite local leaders and community figures to the market’s train shed demo area to chat with market visitors.
Grab a cup of coffee from market vendors The Bolt or Cafe Palmira (or a cold-pressed juice or kombucha!) and drop by to get to know our guests, ask questions and raise any issues you see in the community.
Schedule
Our “Coffee with Your…” series takes place in our train shed demo area (in between stalls 120e and 121 on our vendor map) before or after the Mill City Cooks cooking classes.
