Frogtown Farm is a 5-acre urban farm located in a 13-acre park in the urban core of St. Paul. Rooted in values of social equity, justice, and inter-connectedness, this urban farm on the hill serves as a model for multi-cultural community and a catalyst for economic development, wealth creation, community pride, and sustainability. Frogtown Farm is managed by Tim Page and Cherry Flowers, and their growing practices are a cross between permaculture and organic practices.
Frogtown Farm sells only the highest quality certified-organic produce. Their focus is on culturally important crops that reflect the diverse cultures represented in the Frogtown Farm neighborhood. In addition to their crops, the farm has a mission to educate the community with cooking classes and recipes, youth programming, events, and volunteering.
“Sustainability is at the heart of our mission. We are using organic practices and expect to be certified in 2016. We are also using permaculture practices which care for the earth, for people and for the future. We plan to add sustainable energy sources as we add buildings and capture rain water. Frogtown Farm will be a shining example of sustainable growing in St. Paul.”
