Opening Day and Cooking with Kids!

Come kick off Mother’s Day weekend with ‘Cooking with Kids’ Day at Mill City Farmers Market! We will hail the much awaited spring season, farm-fresh foods, local fine arts and crafts, and honor MOMS with spring flowers and family friendly activities. 

Produce Planner: At the Market this Saturday, you will find: sweet sugar pea shoots, micro greens, herbs, arugula, spinach, carrots, rhubarb, beets,  mesclun mix, radishes, starter plants, hanging baskets and patio pots, lots of bedding plants, plenty of SEED STARTS: summer squash, melon/watermelon, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and more!

Kids Activity, while supplies last: Plant a seedling for a Mother’s Day gift in this activity sponsored by Juut Salonspa.

Mill City Cooks, 10 am: Don’t miss this special kitchen demo with Market Chefs, Heather Hartman and Jenny Breen, who will be assisted by their kids in honor of Mother’s Day!

Live Music, 11am – 1pm: Mill City Hot Club. You’ll feel like you’re shopping on the streets on Paris as you listen to these lively and talented gypsy-jazz artists.

Book Signing, 9:30 – 11:30: Beth Dooley, author of Minnesota’s Bounty: The Farmers Market Cookbook.  Afterward, you can find her inside the Museum doing a Baking Lab presentation, once at 12:30 and again at 2:00.
