Love local foods, but always wondered how you could enjoy them in January when you live in MN? Join us and learn how to extend the season with this simple food preservation technique!

Mill City Farmers Market was recently awarded a grant by Jarden Home Brands, makers of Ball Brand Fresh Preserving Products. This season we will be hosting canning demonstrations and classes featuring seasonal Market produce!

July 16: Pickled Beets

Today we’re talking up Pickled BEETS!  Preserve these ruby jewels this summer and enjoy them all year long! Stop by and enter a raffle for a Ball Home Canning Discovery Kit and for more information about upcoming canning demos, classes and CONTESTS at the Market!

July 30: Tomato Tomäto

Can them whole, sliced, sauced, or salsa-ed and enjoy them all year long! Canning connoisseur, Liz McMann will be leading a demonstration of safe home canning technique at 9:30 am and 11 am.

August 13: Pickled Green

Learn to can Dilly Beans with Foodie/Blogger, Kim. Register in advance with Dustin(nels7581@umn.edu). $10 class fee per household covers cost of materials and the jar of pickles you’ll take home with you!

August 27: State Fair Canning Contest!
